Master's of Arts in Education: Tennessee Education Resources

The Tennessee Department of Education oversees public K-12 education in Tennessee.

The State Board of Education is composed of 11 members representing the diversity of the state – one from each congressional district, plus a student member, and the executive director of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission who serves as non-voting ex officio member. Board members are unpaid Governor’s appointments, confirmed by the legislature and selected based on a passion for service to the people of Tennessee and the education of Tennessee’s children.

The state’s largest professional organization representing over 55,000 elementary and secondary teachers, school administrators, education support professionals, higher education faculty, and students preparing to become teachers. Provides information concerning conferences and workshops, information for new teachers, special events, publications, and more.
